At the request of the residents’ association of a multi-storey building, a site inspection of the flat roof was conducted.

Leaks were reported in multiple locations due to the deterioration or damage of the existing waterproofing membrane.
The roof hosts a large number of telecommunication equipment bases (antennas, racks, electrical cabinets, channels, and other conduits).
Some of the damage was caused by service personnel during equipment maintenance.

A partial repair could not provide a permanent solution to the leakage problem, so the removal of the existing waterproofing membrane and installation of a new membrane was proposed.

After a detailed analysis of all roof elements, roof deck, and parapets, the optimal solution was adopted.

Through the execution project (PEP) for roof waterproofing rehabilitation, the following elements were implemented:

  1. Installation of a new, thicker waterproofing membrane – PVC membrane ‘Bauder Thermofol M18‘, thickness d = 1.8 mm
  2. Application of liquid-applied membrane ‘Sikalastic 641‘ for inaccessible areas or complex geometries
  3. Installation of service/non-slip pedestrian walkways ‘Sikaplan Walkway’ to prevent new damage to the roof waterproofing during maintenance of roof equipment

Although the roof is not very large, it was extremely demanding for waterproofing works.

The installation of the waterproofing membrane required our technicians to perform welding in very constrained positions.

The working positions often required the technicians to be semi-seated, semi-reclined, or fully lying down, which significantly slowed down progress.

Most of the seams were welded manually with hand hot-air tools, requiring extensive experience and skill from the waterproofing specialists.

This project can be considered the most demanding waterproofing project for our team, despite our experience with much larger roof surfaces.

Even our technicians with over 15 years of experience regarded it as a unique challenge, highlighting the exceptional expertise and dedication of our team.

Additional difficulties included high daytime temperatures, which required early morning starts and pauses during peak heat to ensure safe and effective work.

The successful completion of this project was made possible by the entire DVS Izolacija team, including:

  • Technical preparation and design of the waterproofing solution
  • Waterproofing technicians performing works under difficult conditions
  • Administrative support and preparation of accompanying documentation

Upon completion, the investor received a fully renovated roof waterproofing system, installed professionally and to high standards.
The manufacturer provides warranty for the installed waterproofing material, while our team guarantees the quality of workmanship.

Feedback from the investor representatives confirmed their satisfaction with the quality of work and the professional approach of each team member.
