Types and systems of waterproofing

Roofs and/or terraces on the basis design solution can be divided into:

• 01.Passable roofs and/or terraces

On passable roofs, the conducted waterproofing is protected by layers (lining, gravel, behaton panels, decking, etc.) that perform the role of protection both from mechanical damage and from UV radiation of the Sun’s rays.

• 02.Non-passable roofs and/or terraces

On non-passable roofs, the waterproofing remains freely laid and mechanically attached to the substrate, with the fact that it must have the property of UV resistance to solar radiation.

• 03.Semi-passable roofs and/or terraces

On semi-passable roofs, the waterproofing is installed in the same way as for non-passable roofs, with the difference that footpaths, i.e. strips are laid for walking on the roof for ongoing maintenance of waterproofing, equipment or installations on the roof, are installed in the places intended for passage over the roof waterproofing.

According to the method of fastening and waterproofing protection, roofs can be divided into:

• Loaded roofs and/or terraces,
• Unloaded roofs and/or terraces (mechanically fixed).

Waterproofing of foundations, basements, garages and sanitary blocks

Waterproofing of foundation slabs, basements and garages of buildings is carried out with the help of designated waterproofing membranes that are installed in combination with protective layers before the foundation and foundation slabs are poured.

Waterproofing polyurethane coatings or, in other words, liquid membranes, are used for waterproofing of smaller areas of roofs, terraces, processing of details and inaccessible for processing places with waterproofing membranes.

Waterproofing of sanitary blocks is carried out with the help of waterproofing coatings, before laying the ceramics and sanitary elements.

• 01.Repair of waterproofing on roofs, terraces and canopies

In cases where it is necessary to repair or restore waterproofing on roofs, terraces or canopies, an analysis of the current state of waterproofing and consultation with the expert team of waterproofing manufacturer is carried out in order to adopt the final solution for repair and/or installation of new waterproofing.

• 02.Repair of waterproofing of foundations, basements, garages and sanitary blocks

In cases where it is necessary to repair or restore the waterproofing of foundations, basements, garages or sanitary blocks, an analysis of the current state of the waterproofing and consultation with the expert team of the waterproofing manufacturer is carried out in order to adopt the final solution for the repair and/or installation of new waterproofing.
