At the ‘Medius Plus’ supermarket in Stara Pazova, the rehabilitation of the existing roof covering, made of sandwich panels, was carried out.
The rehabilitation was performed on the warehouse roof and canopy due to localized water leaks into the storage area.
To achieve full rehabilitation effectiveness, PIR thermal insulation with a thickness of d = 8 cm was installed, enhancing the warehouse’s energy efficiency.
An efficient and optimal rehabilitation approach was applied, involving the installation of steel sheet strips (substructure) over the roof panels, PIR thermal insulation, and the PVC waterproofing membrane ‘Sikaplan 15G‘.
Connections between the waterproofing and the supermarket’s exterior walls, as well as local roof penetrations, were treated with the liquid polyurethane waterproofing membrane ‘Sikalastic 641‘ to ensure complete waterproofing at potential leakage points.
This type of rehabilitation for existing trapezoidal sheet or panel roofs has proven to be an effective solution for investors, offering excellent results in terms of both thermal and waterproofing with minimal investment. One key benefit of this system is that regular activities within the building can continue uninterrupted during roof rehabilitation works.
Approximate Waterproofed Area: P = 180 m²
Approximate PIR Thermal Insulation Area: P = 150 m²
The materials used include:
- German-manufactured ‘Bauder‘ PVC waterproofing membrane ‘Thermofol M15‘ and thermal insulation ‘PIR FA 80‘
- Swiss-manufactured liquid waterproofing membrane ‘Sikalastic 641‘ by ‘Sika‘
- Anchors by Austrian manufacturer ‘Ejot‘
