On the commercial building of the supermarket ‘Medius‘ in Nova Pazova, roofing installation was carried out on the warehouse and the administrative section of the building. The layers of the roofing system were aligned with the recommendations and project-defined details.

A vapor barrier was installed over the trapezoidal metal sheet, followed by the placement of rock wool insulation. The final layer is a UV-resistant PVC waterproofing membrane. The waterproofing is fixed to the trapezoidal sheet using telescopic fasteners. At the overlaps, the membrane is welded using hot air with specialized handheld tools and semi-automatic welding machines for waterproofing membranes.

The most important aspect is that the roofing membrane is secured according to a layout determined by wind load calculations to ensure the membrane withstands all weather conditions, including strong storm winds.

For flat roofs, in addition to drainage outlets for water removal, it is also necessary to include emergency overflow systems. These overflows help release excess water when the drainage outlets cannot handle large amounts of precipitation, especially during heavy summer rains and storms, which have become more frequent in recent years.

On the ‘Medius’ commercial building, the total waterproofed area is approximately P = 1,000 m².
