Processing of joints – details of roof waterproofing, which cannot be treated with a waterproofing membrane or is difficult to do, a liquid waterproofing membrane is used – one-component polyurethane coating “Sikalastic 641”.

Technology of applying waterproofing coating:

1. Preparation of the substrate, cleaning of waste material, dust and degreasing.

2. Applying the primer to the dry surface. Depending on the type of substrate, special primers are used: for metal substrates “Sikalastic Metal Primer”, for concrete substrates (mortar, screeds, bricks, etc.) “Sika Concrete Primer” is used, for joints with PVC materials a primer is used “Sikalastic PVC Primer” and “Sikalastic FPO Primer” is used for FPO materials. The drying time of the prepared substrate depends on the type of substrate, the appropriate primer and the weather conditions (temperature, humidity, wind, etc.).

3. Applying the first layer of waterproofing coating “Sikalastic 641” on the prepared substrate. Immersion of mesh (felt) “Sikalastic Reemat Premium” in the applied layer of liquid waterproofing. The drying time of the applied coating depends on atmospheric influences.

4. Applying the second layer of waterproofing coating “Sikalastic 641” on the previously dry first layer of coating.

After hardening of the second layer of coating, a solid waterproof membrane is obtained which is “glued” to the substrate and the elements it joins with the mesh “reinforcing” the coating for greater resistance and preventing the appearance of microcracks and cracks. After hardening of the two layers of liquid membrane coating, a waterproof membrane with a thickness of approx. 1.3 – 1.5 mm is obtained. This membrane is UV stable and resistant to atmospheric influences.
