At the ‘DDOR‘ headquarters in Novi Sad, located at Narodnog Fronta 1, an initial roof inspection was conducted, during which these photographs were taken.

The roof structure consisted of a reinforced concrete slab with parapet walls rising along the edges. On the slab, a structure supported the aluminum trapezoidal sheet roofing. Over the years, this roof experienced frequent leaks at multiple locations. During the first site visit, it was suggested to the investor to carry out a renovation using a proven system without dismantling the existing roof structure and trapezoidal sheet, as this would significantly increase the costs.

The project began with preparatory work, including a ‘Pull Out‘ test to measure the pull-out resistance of telescopic fasteners. Representatives from the Austrian company ‘EJOT SE & Co.‘ performed the test using a galvanized and coated steel strip (thickness d = 1.25 mm, width B = 100 mm). These strips were fastened to the top of the trapezoidal sheets using aluminum rivets, which expand into a three-prong “helicopter” shape for high load-bearing capacity. Afterward, a screw was inserted into the mounted sample, and the ‘Pull Out‘ tester measured the pull-out force to determine the optimal fastener layout for the waterproofing membrane.
